Herein, single phase ternary metal sulfide Cu 3 SnS 4 (CTS) nanoparticles are synthesized with high Cu : Sn ratio and examined for application as Li-ion battery anode. High specific capacities of 1082 mAh g −1 at 0.2 A g −1 and 440 mAh g −1 at a high rate of 3 A g −1 are realized with superior stability tested up to 950 cycles.
